| DC-9-30,
Northwest Airlines |
Limited
edition. I suppose it's hard to get excited
about a 3 1/2" model in Northwest livery, but I bought this one
for the red tail and because it is a DC-9. The red tail? Well, who
knows why? However, it's a kick owning these smaller airliners in
this scale. The DC-9, B727, and B737 are fun just because of the fine
detailing the manufacturers put in such a small package. I'm even
starting to warm to the AeroClassics Connies; but more about that
later.
The model is well engineered, and the paint job is very good. There
is one flaw in the paint, and that is in the silver leading edge of
the fin, on the starboard side.
Apparently this little guy wasn't a big seller. It was manufactured
in 2003, and I bought it at a discount in late 2005. |
