War I - Knights of the Air. This line of
Dr. I models has a lot of yummy details, like a step for the pilot,
handholds for the ground crew, detailed guns, and (of course) wires.
The Corgi line has now achieved Hornby-quality, so manufacturing problems
are hardly ever an issue (Corgi is back!). However, the "stretched
fabric" look between the wing ribs is missing on this Dr. I mold,
which is a distraction. Even the old Aurora line of WWI plastic models
(remember those?) used that look on their Dr. I, and Matchbox used
the look on the two Dr. I diecast they produced; why the mold designers
of this model left off the stretched fabric look is a mystery.
