the Pacific. Early-war scheme (amongst a
jumble of schemes) applied to aircraft in the Pacific theater when
the Allies had their backs to the wall. Note the difference in paint
schemes, port to starboard. A most likeable model, and dare I repeat,
a wonderful Corgi mold. Did the Curtiss designers know in advance
that their slab-sided cowling would become WWII's most famous nose-art
canvas?
