Archive. Another excellent model from Corgi's
great P-40E mold. One oddity about the model is the tail wheel, which
appears to be hand painted. Also, the prop is so colorful that the
model looks better with the prop NOT turning than when it is.
Corgi pimples.
Hornby has performed miracles improving
the quality of the Corgi line, but every now and then a Corgi pimple
pops up through the new Hornby skin. In this case, the pimple can
be found in the cover illustration, where some
sadly uninformed photographer mounted the spare fuel tank on the cowling
instead of the belly. While the mistake is frankly hilarious, it does
make one wonder why Hornby didn't fix it in the considerable available
development time between the original announcement of this model and
its actual release. |
