Archive. This is another odd paint-scheme
selection, especially since it is Corgi's third effort for this mold
and especially since there were 6,100
copies made! YIKES!! How in the world did
they expect to sell that many copies of such a pedestrian scheme?
You can still buy new, off-the-shelf (don't forget to dust) copies
of this model. Why didn't Corgi pick more exciting schemes for these
early releases?
This is the first Corgi Thunderbolt to fix the weak-stand problem.
The stands for the first two releases caused these very heavy models
to fall off, nose first. A new, stronger stand was included for this
model under the vacuum pack. The vacuum pack itself wasn't changed,
being molded with the outline of the old stand. There was a little
note attached to the vac-form telling you to look under the packing
for the stand. |
