Corsair - 86 'Lucybelle', VMF-214, Maj. Gregory 'Pappy' Boyington |
Aviation
Archive. WWII - War in
the Pacific. This model came in one of those hanger boxes,
which were equipped with a tab and loop at the top of the box. I have
six of these models, but don't know how many other Corgis were packed
in this way, or how the hanger boxes were used. I imagine there were
racks in stores, and know that at one time racks were offered online
for sale to vendors; however, I haven't seen them in actual use. Wouldn't
it be a shock to walk into a store now-a-days and find a whole rack
loaded with these models; what a panic!
The model itself is very good, and is in fact better than many of
Corgi's Corsairs that came in the fancier boxes. Also, the color seems
more accurate than some other Corsairs by the pooch. This color fidelity
is also true of some of the other hanger models. |
