This 2002 release is a relative rare bird, and I was finally able
to pick one up for a reasonable price (US$25.00) as part of a package
deal with a green P-38J (same price) and four other Hall of Fame models
of which I already had copies. The model is very nice, but the Platinum
version I got for US$29.00 a while back has better assembly quality.
Something has broken lose the Matchbox market, and I'm not sure what
that something is. However, I suspect the economy in the US is causing
some strain in the used diecast market. Another pressure on the used
market may be the large number of new diecast hitting the market almost
daily. |
