I think
this is the first diecast mold for this particular fighter. Whatever,
SkyMax has done a fantastic job on the mold and on the general construction
of the model. There were only two minor glitches, one being the canopy
mechanism, which doesn't slide straight, causing the canopy to drift
to one side; and the yellow paint isn't as thick as it should be in
places. I really think that the bain of model painters must be the
color yellow. It's the one that is almost always too light. A rather
odd problem not related to the model was that a Hobby Master modern
pilot wouldn't fit the seat, even after a bottom and crotch trim.
I don't in any way want to sound negative about this model, because
(again, if finances allow such a thing) I plan to collect all of the
versions of this particular mold. It is lots of fun! |
